It is with great sadness that the family of William James Smith of Lewisporte announces his passing on April 16th, 2018 at the Health Sciences Center, St. John's, after a brief illness at the age of 81.

Predeceased by his wife, Alma Smith; parents, William and Anastasia Smith; infant sister, Madonna; brothers-in-law, Ted Young and Michael Kennedy and sister-in-law, Lossie Smith.

Leaving to mourn with loving memories and cherished moments are son, Edward (Kelly); granddaughters, Ella and Emily; brothers, Angus, Don (Nina), Hughie (Jeanette), Jerry (Irene), Raymond (Jackie); sisters, Betty and Margaret (Ron); sisters-in-law, Loretta Young, Eileen Fudge (Jack) and a large circle of close family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the doctors & nurses on 4 North A at the Health Sciences Center for the outstanding care given to William James during his brief stay at the hospital.  The compassion and kindness shown during that time will forever be remembered.

The public visitation for the late William James Smith will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte on Friday, August 10 ^th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

The Funeral Mass will take place from the Holy Family Parish, Lewisporte on Saturday, August 11 ^th at 10 AM.

The interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery.
