A devoted family man, Wayne spent countless hours volunteering at various hockey, table tennis, swimming and Boy Scouts events. Nothing made Wayne happier then walking in the woods, fishing or camping with his wife Daphne and children Stephanie and Tom.

Playing school, playing with cars, at the playground or playing cards Wayne (poppy) was always delighted to play with and entertain his grandchildren – for hours and hours when needed.

Music was near and dear to Wayne's heart. You could rely on him for breaking out the perfect song that matched the mood and the occasion. Wayne enjoyed playing and singing with friends, playing at community events and singing songs near and dear to his partner Gloria's heart.

Poetry writing that could bring people to tears. Knowing the right words and the right time. Wayne's gentle and quiet demeanor made everyone feel special and will be painfully missed.

As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Dr. H Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre would be gratefully accepted.
