Obituary

It is with sadness that the family of the late Vincent Albert Perry announces his passing at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL, age 89 years.

Vincent was born to Samuel and Agnes Perry. His father was a fisherman, his mother, a home maker. Vince was one of 18 children. Like most children growing up in NL in the 1920's and 30's, he was raised on modest means. Being the oldest boy, he soon developed into manhood eager to work and learned to assume responsibility, helping with the upkeep of his family members. He soon became an excellent wood cutter under the supervision of his uncle, Mr. Charles Fudge, for the A. N. D. Co. He later worked as a carpenter for Twynes Const ., A&C Potters, Compton Bros., and Chapelstone . In 1951, he met and married his wife, the former Rita Bowering of Bay Roberts. Together, they moved to Little Burnt Bay, thence to Pleasantview Manor in Lewisporte . Vincent was a devoted member of Bethel Pentecostal church where he was a faithful member. Today, he is now promoted to his heavenly home awaiting a great reunion.

Vincent leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife, Rita; siblings, Dorcas Anstey , Jack (Eileen) Fudge, Fronie Rideout, Agnes (Pearce) Anstey, Sadie (Pleaman) Rimmer, Hardy (Bertha) Perry, Lucy (Albert) Mills, Bernice (Wallace) Fifield, Melvin (Nancy) Perry, Hope (Dave) Hicks, Joan (Lloyd) Wells, Norman (Nola) Perry, Bruce (Daisy) Perry ; sisters-in-law, Edna Perry and Rebie Mugford; as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, relatives and a wide circle of friends.

Vincent is predeceased by his parents, Samuel & Agnes Perry; sister, Myrtle; brothers, Eldon and infant Samuel; step-mother, Winnifred; step-brother, Cyril; brothers-in-law, Norman Anstey and Leslie Rideout.
