Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 19, 2026 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL, Vaughan Herbert Boyd, age 79 years, after a prolonged battle with Parkinson’s disease.

He was predeceased by his father, Hedley; mother, Sylvia; brother, Vernon; sisters, Velma, Viola, Vera, Peggy.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife, Gerri; son, Robert; daughter, Kristina; grandson, Kavan; brothers, Varrick (Edna), Victor (Elizabeth), Vincent (Ann); sister, Valda (Denis); mother-in-law, Mary MacDonald; sisters-in-law, Lola Taylor, Marilyn Snooks; brothers-in-law, Jim MacDonald, Ronald Jenkins; and his many beloved nieces and nephews.

Vaughan loved music, poetry, and literature. His home was filled with books and records where he spent countless hours reading and listening to his favorite artists.

Cremation has taken place, ashes will be interred in Tizzard’s Harbour at a later date.

Public visitation for family and friends will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte on September 24, 2026, from 2-4PM

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Tizzard’s Harbour United Church Cemetery Fund will be gratefully accepted.
