The family announces with heavy hearts the passing of the late Sidney Garfield Brinson, a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and partner on Friday, January 31, 2025 at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL at the age of 91.

Predeceased by his parents John and Ada; wife, Emily; brothers, Guy, Allan, Jack, Wilson; and sister, Dorcas.

Leaving to mourn with loving and fond memories the last of the Brinson family his brother, George (Mary); his partner of the past 20 years Sue Ledrew; children, Dianne, Dean (Paula), Donna (Jim), Dwayne (Anita); grandchildren, Ashley (Jon), Jonathan, Deanyka (Cory), Donovan, Lacey; extended family, Ena (Roland), Ivan (Josephine), Lawrence (Allison);  sisters-in-law, Daisy, Betty, Madeline, Ruth, Vera, Velma and a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dad was born on Change Islands July 21, 1933. He was the son of John and Ada. He later married Emily Leyte and had 4 children.

He was a jack of all trades, a master of none who did not hesitate to take on a challenge. Dad thoroughly loved his cards and board games. He dabbled in fishing, carpentry, electrical and even TV repair.

We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at James Paton Memorial Hospital for their exemplary care, but especially to Sue for her love and devotion over the past 20 years. Also special thank-you to his daughter-in-law, Anita for her exceptional medical advice and care over the years.

The public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, Lewisporte, NL on Sunday, February 2 , 2025, and Monday February 3, 2025 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.

The funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Lewisporte, NL on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 11 AM. The interment to follow at St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Lewisporte, NL.

As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery fund would be gratefully accepted.
