Passed peacefully on the morning of Monday, July 26, 2021, at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL, Mrs. Ruby Monnie Ford aged 90 years.

Left to mourn her passing with loving memories are her two daughters, Bonnie, and Cindy (Brian); 4 grandchildren, Crystal, Joseph (Renee), Corey (Emma), and Angela (Vince); Great-grandchildren, Bruce, Mia, Alice; Sisters, Rita, and Kay (Roy), and a large circle of family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Bessie; brother Edwin, and husband Harold.

Monnie lived a beautiful life, dedicating her time to helping others. Her working career took her across many communities in Newfoundland and Labrador including Twillingate where her caring nature excelled her as a nurse.  As told by Monnie "once a year the hospital staff would put off a play.  The first year I was there, I was picked to take part in the play.  I was the daughter (in the play) who would marry this guy that worked at the bank.  Incidentally, three years later I really did marry this same guy", Harold Ford.  A love story out of a classic film.

Strong in her faith as a Jehovah's Witness, she spent many years in ministry telling others about her hope for the future.  Many people recognize her for kindness in helping others in the community.  Especially elderly people requiring assistance in their day-to-day affairs.

Monnie loved cooking, hosting meals, and having social gatherings with family and friends. She also loved travel and throughout her life was able to experience much of Canada, The United States, and Europe.

Perhaps there is one motto that best describes Monnie's loving approach to life.  This motto is something she recited to many people and in particular to her grandchildren: "Rise and shine.  Show your face to the world. Make each day better because you are there".

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place , and a public online service took place on Saturday July 31, 2021 at 1:00 pm NL time.
