Passed peacefully away at the North Haven Manor, Lewisporte on Thursday, December 9, 2021 with her daughter, Hattie and son-in-law, David by her side, Mrs. Ruby Freake, age 97 years.  She was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of 73 years, Wesley Freake; parents, Frederick and Emma Legge; infant son, Harvey; and she was the last of her 12 siblings to pass away.

Left to mourn her passing with fond and loving memories are her daughter, Hattie (David Wheeler); grandchildren, Dereck and Heather (Todd Matsumoto);  great-grandchildren,  Rebecca (Jesse), Kali, Kate, Ava; brothers-in-law, Dexter(Lorraine)Freake, Larry Freake and a large number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to drop by Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Hone,  262 Main Street, Lewisporte on Monday, December 13th at 12:30 PM with a Memorial Service taking place at 1:30 PM for both Wesley and Ruby Freake. The internment will follow at the United Church Cemetery, Loon Bay.

As expressions of sympathy, flowers or donations to the Lewisporte Good Will Center/food bank will be gratefully accepted.

A special thank-you going out to the staff of Pleasantview Manor for their tender loving care and especially for all the hugs and kisses, the nurses at the Swing Unit at James Paton Memorial Hospital and the nursing staff at North Haven Manor for the excellent care and love shown to her in the last few months of her life.

Mom, your journey here is over and the love you have shown our family can't be measured and our love for you is unending. May God bless you and may you rest in Peace.
