Passed peacefully away in the presence of her family on January 22, 2022, ROWENA MARY (MENCHENTON) HEAD at the age of 85 years.

Born on December 22, 1936, Rowena completed her education in Norris Arm North. Aside from a period of time when she worked in Botwood Hospital as a Nurse's Aid, Rowena was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and served tirelessly in both her church and community. She held positions in Sunday School and on the WM executive committee.  Wherever she saw a need in the community, she was there to do whatever her hand could find to do and she did it "with all her might".

Leaving to mourn with a broken heart Ross, her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, as well as her precious children, Dale (Barbara) and Byron (Gloria). Also left with lifelong memories are her grandchildren, Dana (Tammy), Michelle (Byron), Melanie (Ray), Natasha, and Matthew (Erin); great-grandchildren, Spencer, Madison, Faith, Leah, Lincoln, Alexander and Kathryn. Rowena was sister to George (Hilda- deceased), Pleman (Joan), Vera (Valmond), John (Debbie), Pansy (Eli–deceased), Madeline (Wayne), Marge (Carl), Doreen (Don), Kaywood–deceased (Susan) , Milton (Marina), and Alex (Lillian).  She was sister-in-law to Willard (Betty), Clayton-deceased (Shirley), Howard (Marie), and Gordon (Betty).

Rowena was pre-deceased by parents, John & Maude Menchenton and parents-in-law, Roland & Flo Head.

She will also be sadly missed by her large circle of extended family and friends.

Visitation for invited guests will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 1-4 PM following COVID government regulations.

The funeral service will take place from the Pentecostal Church, Norris Arm North, NL on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 2 PM for invited guests.  NLVax Pass and photo ID will be required at both the funeral home and the church.

As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Gideons or the Canadian Bible Society will be gratefully accepted
