It is with great sadness that the family of Ross Gillingham of Lewisporte, announce his passing on May 30, 2024 at the age of 79.

Ross was an avid hunter, fisher and all around nature lover. His favorite salmon fishing spot was on the Gander River, he loved moose hunting with his buddies in Millertown and he was willing to pick his blueberries just about anywhere.

Family was very important to Ross and he showed it daily through his loving actions and words. He always wore his heart on his sleeve and expressed his love freely. Ross was very proud and protective of his wife, 3 daughters, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Family and friends know and loved him for his big generous smile and warm comforting hugs.

Ross is predeceased by his parents; Roland & Gladys Gillingham; brothers, Charlie and Frank; sister, Eileen; brother-in-law, Reginald Bath.

Left with many memories are his wife of 55 years, Margaret (Oake); children, Tracy (Michael), Tina (David), and Shelly (Christopher); grandchildren, Trevor Gillingham (Leanne), Daniel Pearce (Jane), Sara Pearce, Hannah Bridger, Benjamin Bridger, Sunny Gillingham and Tao Newhook; great-grandchildren, Isla Gillingham and Arden Gillingham; sister, Lorna; brother, Eugene (Jane); sister-in-law, Laura; as well as a large number of family, including nieces, nephews, in-laws plus a circle of friends, especially close hunting & fishing buddies; Cecil & Layne Fudge.

Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street. Lewisporte, on Tuesday June 4th from 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will take place from St. Paul's Anglican Church, Lewisporte on Wednesday, June 5th at 11AM. Interment will take place from St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery fund would be greatly accepted.
