It  is with heavy hearts the family of Rodney Roy Bennett, announces his sudden passing on Friday, July 18, 2025 at the age of 51.

He is predeceased by his grandparents, Ross & Daisy Bennett, Harold & Marjorie Hart; father-in-law, Horace Lane.

Left to mourn his passing with fond and loving memories are his wife, Melanie; daughters, Maddie (Kyle), Callie; parents, Roy & Marion Bennett; mother-in-law, Karen Lane;  siblings, Dale (Elvis) Kinden, Sharon (Tony) Bennett, Trevor Bennett (Carley), Kayla (Graham) Coish; grandmother in-law, Marion Noble; brother-in-law, Joshua Noble (Sarah); nieces & nephews, Ashley, Lucas, Candice, Brandon, Jordan, Jack, Logan, Liam; fur babies, George, Dougie, Blu, Charlie and a large circle of family and friends.

Rod will be remembered for his kind spirit, easy going nature and the joy he found in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid golf enthusiast, often spending peaceful afternoons on the greens with his good friend Barry. Rod also found great happiness in sharing quality time with his wife and two daughters, whose love and laughter meant the world to him. In his spare time he enjoyed walking his 2 Golden Retrievers, George and Dougie who were a big part of his everyday life.

One of Rod's long-held dreams was to someday retire and return home to Newfoundland, a place that always held a special place in his heart. Though he did not get to make that journey, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

His never ending kindness, warmth and sense of humor will be deeply missed.

The Public Visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL on Friday, July 25th, 2025 at 2-4PM and 7-9PM.

The Funeral Service will take place from St. Matthew's United Church, Lewisporte, NL  on Monday, July 28th at 11AM.
