Passed peacefully away on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Lakeside Home, Gander, NL Mrs. Rita Lillian Perry, age 96 years.

Rita is predeceased by her husband, Vincent; parents, Stephen and Elizabeth Bowering; siblings, Stephen (Sophie) Bowering, Hope (Lester Mercer), Lewis (Pearl) Bowering, Allen (Rachael) Bowering, Dianna (James Parsons), Don Bowering and Jessie (Whitmore Mercer).

Throughout her life, Rita enjoyed the love of a very wide circle of friends and family, many of whom survive her. Although the distances and difficulties of the recent years prevented close contact with most, she was grateful to be able to enjoy frequent personal visits and conversations with a few, particularly her nieces, Lois, Olive and Stephanie; brother-in-law, Hardy; sister-in-law, Sadie; and cousin, Calvin.

Rita Lillian Perry was born on September 18, 1925, to Stephen and Elizabeth Bowering in Bay Roberts, NL. She was one of eight children raised in a loving household.

Rita began her career as a teacher at a young age on Black Island, NL. While teaching there and living on Samson's Island, NL just a boat ride away, she met and married Vince, the love of her life, on January 4, 1951. They were married for 64 years.

They soon moved to Little Burnt Bay, where Rita continued her career as a teacher and Vince, a carpenter. They were very involved in their community and their church, with Rita devoting most of her time there as a Sunday School Teacher. During these years, they enjoyed frequent trips to their cottage on Samson's Island, NL many boat trips and boil-ups with friends. They were both avid gardeners; proud to display their flowers and tend their vegetable garden.

Subsequent years saw them move to Lewisporte, NL into a cottage and then to Pleasantview Manor, where they enjoyed their time spent with friends, family visits and many lunches of tea and cake.

Rita's final years were spent at Lakeside Homes in Gander, NL where she was a blessing to all who visited and cared for her. She will be fondly remembered for her endearments and prayers for all. "I will meet you in the morning over there".

Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 2-5 PM following COVID Government regulations.

The funeral service will take place from Bethel Pentecostal Church, Little Burnt Bay, NL on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 1 PM for invited guests only.

The interment will follow from the Pentecostal Cemetery, Little Burnt Bay, NL.

In keeping with Covid-19 Government regulations those attending the church for the funeral service are to present your NLVaxPass ID along with a photo ID.

In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations in her memory made to Bethel Pentecostal Church, Little Burnt Bay, NL.
