Reginald Cecil
Rowe
Feb 21, 1943 — May 30, 2025
Norris Arm
It is with heavy but full hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Reginald Cecil Rowe, aged 82, who left for his heavenly home on May 30th, 2025. A cherished partner, father, grandfather, cousin, nephew, and friend.
Born on February 21st, 1943, Cecil (or Cec, to most) was the only child to Pastor A.W. and Lorraine Rowe, of whom Cecil was immensely proud of, and is reunited with once more.
Cecil and beloved life partner Betty Walters travelled to many places, but in the last few years called Norris Arm North home. Cecil was the father of dearest daughters Pamela Rowe-Tetford (Bruce Tetford) and Zoe Rowe-Watson (Roy Belluz) as well as step-son to Hubert Messervey. Cecil was immensely proud to be Poppa to granddaughter Lauren Tetford, and grandsons Evan Tetford, William Pullen and Scott Watson. Friends and family were deeply cherished by Cecil. There is not much he loved more than sharing a laugh, a story or meaningful conversation with friends, old and new. His memory endures through the lives of the people he loved and was loved by.
Cecil lived each and every moment to the fullest. Whether it was travelling around the world, tinkering with cars in his building, out catching a fish, or spending time with his family and friends. He pursued everything with his whole heart. From stewarding his boat to his business, Cecil did all things with tenacity, grit, and the capacity to "see what could be". His excitement for the world, and determination to never give up is a legacy he instilled into his daughters, and now grandchildren. He could never turn down a fixer-upper, a challenge-or a good lobster.
What kept him steadfast was both his love for his family and friends as well as his everlasting faith and trust in God. Never did he miss a moment to share God's grace and show God's love. There is peace in knowing he finally heard those words, "Well done, good and faithful servant".
Cecil will be remembered for his humor, fortitude and love for others. He filled each room he was in with warmth, laughter and comfort. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but the imprint he left on the world will always remain. You will forever be in our hearts, and in the moments when we embrace all that life brings.
Cecil is resting at Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL. The family welcomes all to attend the visitation taking place on Wednesday, June 4th, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.
We would like to invite all who knew Cecil to join us in a Celebration of Life service on Thursday, June 5th, 2:00pm at Bethany Pentecostal Church, Norris Arm North, NL. This will be followed by a time of sharing and refreshments served at the Norris Arm North Community Centre.
A private burial will take place with the family and friends prior to the Celebration of Life.
Cecil lived his life seeking ways to show kindness to any person in need. In lieu of flowers, we encourage others to continue to share this same spirit. Whether giving to a charity, your community, or participating in an act of random kindness, we hope you will help to continue Cecil's legacy in making this world a better place.
