Obituary

Passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at the Dr. Albert O'Mahony Manor, Clarenville, Mr. Reginald Prior, age 84 years.

Left to mourn his passing with fond and loving memories are his wife, Bertha (nee, Hillier) of 60 years; daughters, Wanda (Gerald) of Clarenville, Kaye (Barry) of Trout River; 3 grandchildren, Jay Vardy (Janine), Meredith Vardy (David), Robert Brake (Nena); 4 great-grandchildren, Julia Vardy, Bentley Brake, Kolbie Jax Murphy and Jacob Piercey; sisters-in-law, Margaret Mullins, Lenora Crowley, Grace (late Charles Hillier) and a large circle of other relatives and friends.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place.

There was a visitation of family and friends, from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, Lewisporte on Friday, October 7th from 7-9 PM. The memorial service took place from the Funeral Home 11 AM on Saturday, October 8, 2016 with Rev. Owen Holwell officiating. Interment followed from the Anglican Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Leprosy Mission of Canada or Mercy Ships of Canada was gratefully accepted.

Reg was well known in many places throughout the province. He worked as both a telegraph operator and a cable splicer in Gander, Grand Bank, Buchans, Lewisporte and several other locations during his 40 years of employment with CNT/ Terra Nova Tel. He wsa a 50 year plus member of the masonic lodge in Grand Bank. Upon retirement, he fulfilled a lifelong dream and became an avid boater, spending his summers sailing far and wide.
