Passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the North Haven Manor, Lewisporte, Mr. Raymond Francis Mercer, age 79 years.

He was born January 1, 1936 to Cecil and Bertha Mercer. He married Elizabeth Pelley on November 29, 1955 and they had 6 children. He was a fisherman, worked in the lumber woods and was a carpenter.

He is predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth; parents, Cecil and Bertha Mercer; sister, Pearl Moyles.

Left to mourn his passing are his children, Larry (Joan), Plemon (Wonita), Helen (Terry), Cynthia (Norman), Dale, Gregory (Juanita); grandchildren, Darryl, Lisa (Brian), Steven (Melissa), Jennifer, Crystal (Jamie), Andy (Beverley), Terrilyn (Eugene), Leslie, Emma (Evan), Nathan; great-grandchildren, Skye, Kalon, Ethan; siblings, Shirley (Raymond), Kevin (Edith); close friend, Edward (Elizabeth) Snow and a large circle of other relatives and friends.

The public visitation took place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, Lewisporte, on Thursday, April 2, 2015 from 7-9 PM. On Friday, April 3, 2015 the visitation will take place from the the United Church, Port Albert starting at 2 PM.

The funeral service will take place from the church, Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 11 am. Interment followed from the United Church Cemetery, Port Albert, NL.

As expressions of sympathy, flowers or donations to the United Church, Port Albert would be gratefully accepted.
