Passed peacefully away with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL, Mr. Pleaman Johnnie Pollard, age 85 years.
Pleaman met Leah Cassell and was married on August 13, 1964 and were married for over 60 loving years. He was a loving husband and father. To anyone that knew him they would say he was always kind and helpful with a great sense of humor. Pleaman had many passions in his life. Darts and bowling were just two of those. He served as a firefighter for over 35 years in Goose Bay where he resided from 1962-1998. Then he moved to Lewisporte to retire with his wife. He spent time enjoying the great outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing or boating and loved spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his wife, Leah Pollard; daughter, Michelle Pollard; parents, Uriah (Roy) and Cinderella Pollard; siblings, Ida, Hubert, Annie, Jim, Shirley, Stafford, Clara, Dena and Barry.
Left to mourn his passing with fond and loving memories are his children, Brian (Tanya) Pollard; daughter, Jennifer Pollard; grandchildren, Kaneesha, Samantha (Nancy), Chantelle (Jorge), Alyssa (Jaxson), Jaydon, Alexander and his dad Jamie; great-grandchildren, Leah & Anna, Bjorn; siblings, Wilfred (Iona), Marie. Pleaman will be greatly missed by a large circle of family and friends.
Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL, on Friday, June 12th from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM.
The Funeral Service will take place from the Philadelphia Pentecostal Church, Lewisporte, NL, on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 11AM. Interment will follow at the Philadelphia Pentecostal Cemetery, Lewisporte, NL.
