Obadiah Gordon
Collins
Dec 13, 1946 — Dec 28, 2025
Lewisporte
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Obadiah Gordon Collins, who passed away peacefully on December 28th at James Paton Memorial, surrounded by his loving wife Maisie and his precious family.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Olive Collins, whom he loved dearly and whose memory remained close to his heart; parents, Japheth and Lydia (Shute) Collins.
Left with fond and loving memories his wife Maisie; children, Eileen (Mike), Connie (Matt), Paul (Bride), Terry (Shannon), Cathy (Bax), and Michelle (Mason).
He was especially proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought him immense joy and purpose. As "pop", he shared laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love, leaving behind cherished memories that will live in their hearts forever grandchildren, Jeff (Brenda), Jason (Christina), Victoria (Jason), Rebecca (Shayne), Brett (Mackenzie), Jordan (Sarah), Marlee (Alexander), Shannon (Jessica), Monica (Phillip); great grandchildren, Abigail, Sarah, Angel, Avery, Chelsea, Paisley, Madelyn, Reegan, Jaelynn, Lexi, Myla, Greyson, Thomas, Elsie, and Scottie.
He is also survived by his loving siblings Cecil Collins, Marion Shafe, Elizabeth Brown, Sherry (Herb) Primmer, also many nieces and nephews.
Obe (Poppy Collins) was a man whose heart was filled with faith and whose life was often expressed through music. Music was not only his passion, but also his ministry, a way he praised God, comforted others, and brought joy to every room he entered. Whether listening, singing, or simply sharing a favorite song, he believed music was a gift from God that spoke when words fell short.
Though deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing he now rests in eternal peace, reunite with loved ones who have gone before him, and praising God forever.
He will be remembered always and loved forever.
