Margaret Louise (Wells) Haliburton, age 92, passed peacefully away on November 19, 2022, at North Haven Manor, surrounded by members of her loving family.

Born on January 28, 1930 at Exploits to Albert & Bessie (Tiller) Wells, Margaret was the fourth of six children. After graduating high school, Margaret left Exploits (while her heart remained there always) to attend summer school where she obtained a teaching certificate. During her teaching career, she taught at Horwood, Stoneville, Cottrells Cove, Lewisporte, and Grand Falls-Windsor.

Margaret met John P. Haliburton (1929 - 1994) in Lewisporte, and they courted for three years before getting married on August 24, 1957 at Exploits' United Church. Together they lived in Lewisporte where they raised their three children Peter, Nancy & Greg. In 1978, Margaret went back to work as a Home Support Worker with the Department of Social Services until 1994, bringing her kind, selfless and compassionate nature to the families in the area she supported.

Affectionately known as Aunt Marg by her extended family, she was famous for her baking, especially her coffee rings and fruit cakes that she gave as Christmas gifts. On August 20, 1987, Margaret and her friends, Sylvia & Selby Moss, started the Interfaith Goodwill Centre in Lewisporte to help those in need. She was heavily involved in many church activities and attended church whenever there was anything on the go. If the doors were open, she was there. She also spent endless hours visiting "The Old People" as she would say at the senior homes to bring extra light and joy in their lives.

She was predeceased by her husband, John P. Haliburton, parents, Albert & Bessie (Tiller) Wells, parents-in-law, John P. (Jack) & Myrtle (Garland) Haliburton, brother George (Louise) Wells, sisters, Madeline Sceviour (Harold), Bertha Hill (Austin), nephew, Brian Sceviour, nephews-in-law, Joe Picco and Neil Windsor, sister-in-law, Jean Moir (Robert), and brother-in-law, Bill Grant.

Left to cherish her memory always are her loving children, Peter (Roxanne), Nancy (Julio), and Greg. Forever remembered with special love are her grandchildren Saphyre (David Mark), Parker, Austin, Rachael, Ryan (Melanie) step great grandchildren Logan, Jemma, Norah-Joy, Julian, Kyra, Leven and her sisters Millie Sceviour (Max) and Patsy Grant, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and friends.

The funeral service will take place at St. Paul's Anglican Church at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 25, 2022. Internment will follow at the St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Lewisporte, NL.

The family visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 7:00 PM followed by the public visitation on Thursday, November 24, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home. As per the families request mask are recommended to be worn at all times.

The family would like to thank Pleasantview Manor for the support and care they gave our Mom/Gram/Aunt Marg during her time there. Also, the management and staff of North Haven Manor for their compassionate care over the past four years and exceptional care during the past week especially on the day she went to her heavenly home.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Interfaith Goodwill Centre or Habitat for Humanity Canada in her memory would be gratefully accepted.
