It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Pope-Goodyear, age 61 announces her passing on September 3rd, 2025, at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She is predeceased by her parents, Garland and Bessie (Angell) Pope; her husband, Andy Goodyear.

Leaving to mourn with broken hearts are her beloved son, Ryan (Melissa); Margaret also shared a close bond with her two siblings, Pauline (Wayne) and Garland (Lori); nieces and nephews, Melodie (Lance), April (Bruce), Travis, Jake (Manish), Skyler, Morgan, Erin, Spencer, Cecilia, Zoey and Eleanor.

Margaret grew up in Birchy Bay but moved to Kitchener, Ontario at the age of 21. There she met her husband and had her son. She had a close circle of friends who were like family away from home. She didn't have many hobbies, but she dearly loved flowers and her gardens, so she looked forward to the summer months. Although she spent most of her life away, the last seven years she lived back home in Newfoundland surrounded by her family.

As expressions of sympathy, flowers accepted or donations to assist the family with funeral expenses would be greatly accepted.

Public visitation will be taking place from Beacon Pentecostal Tabernacle, Birchy Bay, NL, on Friday, September 5th, from 2-4 & 7-9PM.

Funeral Service will take place from the Beacon Pentecostal Tabernacle, Birchy Bay, NL, on Saturday, September 6th at 11AM. Internment will follow from the Beacon Pentecostal Cemetery.
