Linda was born February 7, 1950 to Frank and Dorothy White of Comfort Cove-Newstead, NL. She married her hometown sweetheart, Bert Canning on October 8, 1971. Bert and Linda had 50 wonderful and loving years together, they had one daughter, Kristie who was the pride and joy of Linda's life.

She spent most of her working career with Notre Dame Seafood and retired in 2017.

She gave her life to the Lord at a young age and took an active role in her church. She was a Sunday school teacher and an active member of the Home League. In her spare time she loved to knit and thoroughly enjoyed fun times with family.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband, Bert; daughter, Kristie; brother, Brooklyn (Doreen); sister, Evelyn (Charlie); sisters-in-law, Patricia, Mildred (Lewis); brothers-in-law, Stewart (Pansy), George (Babe), Scott (Gerilda), Oscar (Rhonda), Harold (Maisie) and a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Scott; mother and father in-law, Allan and Ada Canning.

The visitation will take place from The Salvation Army Church, Comfort Cove-Newstead, NL on Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm, in keeping with Covid-19 Government Regulations.
