Kathleen Elizabeth
Head
Nov 22, 1939 — Jun 15, 2021
Kathleen Elizabeth Rose was born November 22, 1939 in Loon Bay, NL to Harold and Minnie Linfield. She left Loon Bay at an early age to work in Gander and Lewisporte. She met the love of her life, Gerald, and they were married on May 1, 1959 and settled in Comfort Cove. They were beloved parents to their six children.
Kathleen was a devoted wife and mother. Her family was the center of her world. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren always brightened her days.
She was a wonderful cook and homemaker and an active member of the UCW and Firettes. She loved a game of cards. After she raised her family she went to work at the NDB Fisheries, where she enjoyed many a laugh with her co-workers.
Following Gerald's passing four years ago, she showed her inner strength, and lived in her house by herself for the first year. Then she enjoyed her time at Pleasantview Manor, where the staff became her second family. With failing health, her last months were spent at NDBMHC Long Term Care.
Kathleen is predeceased by her husband, Gerald; parents, Harold and Minnie Linfield; brother, Bob Linfield and nephew, Robbie Linfield.
Left to mourn her passing with fond and loving memories are her children, Wayne (Jessie), Jackie (Scott Cooper), John (Debbie), Joanne (Roy Lodge), Janice (Randy House), and Jennifer (Rodney Hale); grandchildren, Kyle (Karla), Amanda (Sheldon Keough), Ashley, Sara (Daniel Wood), Lucas (Angel), Tyler (Krista), Zachary (Kiersten), Chelsea (Chris), Emma (Zach), Jordan (Sophia), Noah and Sophie; great- grandchildren, Aidan Keough, Cassie Cooper, Levi Wood, Olivia Linfield; brother, Hardy Linfield; Sister, Marilyn Linfield; sister-in-law, Ruby Head; niece, Madeline Elliott; as well as a large circle of family and friends.
A private visitation and funeral service will take place for the family following COVID government regulations. The interment will follow at the United Church Cemetery, Comfort Cove-Newstead, NL.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the MS Society https://mhttps://mssociety.ca/ssociety.ca/ will be gratefully accepted.
