Passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL, Mrs. Jean Louise Whelan, aged 84 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Garfield and Meta Gillingham; brothers, Wilbert and Wallace; sister, Doreen Mouland and brother-in-law, Albert Meldrum.

Left to mourn her passing with fond and loving memories are her husband, Norman; brothers, Cyril (Nellie Coles) and Norman; sisters, Cynthia Meldrum and Bonnie (Donald Walsh); brother-in-law, Arthur Mouland; sisters-in-law, Nellie and Barbara; Michele Byrne (Mrs. Whelan considered her as a daughter); as well as a large circle of other relatives, and friends.

The public visitation took place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 2-4 PM following COVID government regulations.

The funeral service took place from St. Matthew's United Church, Lewisporte, NL on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 11 AM for invited guests only.  The interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Noggin Cove, NL

As expressions of sympathy, flowers accepted or donations in her memory were made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center, Gander, NL.
