It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ms. Jacqueline Brenton, age 69, at Grand Manan Hospital, Grand Manan, New Brunswick, on August 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was predeceased by her father, Jack Huckins; her beloved husband, Roger Brenton.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children, Danita (Davey), Devin (Amanda), Danny (Lindsay); her precious grandchildren, Tia, Jaymin, Danen, Alyah; great-grandchildren, Scottie, Lila, whom she loved dearly; mother, Nellie; sister, Joan (Russell); brother Alan (Jody), and a large circle of family and friends.

In Jackie's younger years she worked at the fish plant on Grand Manan, then later enjoyed working with the Grand Manan Nursing Home.

Jackie was truly kind-hearted and loved deeply. She had a special way of making people feel welcomed, cared for, and loved. Her smile could light up a room, and her presence brought warmth and joy wherever she went.

Her faith was an important part of her life; she dearly loved her church, family, and the kids in CCN CREW. The friendships and bonds she shared with those around her meant so much to her, and she treasured the memories they made together.

She met Roger on Grand Manan, the two fell in love and were married her journey eventually brought her to Comfort Cove, which became her home for over 20 years. During those years, she became a part of the small-town community and built a life filled with friendships, love, and many cherished memories.

In February 2026, Jackie made the important decision to move back home to New Brunswick so she could spend precious time with her family. That time meant more to her than words could ever express. Being surrounded by those she loved brought her great happiness, and together they created many memories that her family will cherish dearly for years to come.

One of her greatest joys during this time was building a new and meaningful relationship with her children. The love and connection they shared over this last six months brought tremendous delight and filled her heart. Those moments together became some of the most precious of her life.

To know Jackie was to know love, kindness, laughter, and friendship. She loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy in the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Though she will be deeply missed, we will carry her memory with us-In every story shared, every laugh remembered, and every moment we think of that beautiful smile that could brighten even the darkest day.

In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a private family Celebration of Life at Wood Island Cemetery, Wood Island, New Brunswick at a later date.
