Ivy Eudora (Raike) Simmonds was born in Bonne Bay, NL, August 15, 1947. Where she met the love of her life and enjoyed one month shy of 44 yrs together with Raymond Simmonds. They moved to Ontario in 1964 where they raised a beautiful family, until the late 1990s when they moved back home to Lewisporte, NL.

Ivy was a woman of strong Christian faith; she lived her life with kindness, compassion, and love for others. Her faith guided her through every chapter of life and was reflected in the warmth she shared with family, friends, and everyone she met.

She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life — a hot coffee and muffin from Tim Hortons, her crossword puzzle books, her daily devotions, and of course, her love for ice cream. She also cherished peaceful walks around Woolfrey's Pond Boardwalk with the love of her life Ray, where they would reflect, pray, and enjoy the beauty around them. When he passed she continued to walk around Woolfreys Pond Boardwalk, until she wasn't able.

She also loved spending time playing games like Skip-Bo and Scramble, always enjoying the fun and laughter they brought. Her grandchildren and great children were the light of her life, and nothing brought her more happiness than having them around. She treasured every family visit and loved filling those moments with stories, loads of laughter, and love.

She was rarely seen without her best friend and sister, Rhodena, by her side. Together they shared many wonderful memories — sightseeing adventures, travelling throughout the United States, and their weekly Saturday shopping trips that became a treasured tradition. Their bond was one filled with love, laughter, and lifelong friendship.

She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, caring heart, and unwavering faith. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff of Pleasantview Manor and North Haven Manor for the compassion, kindness, and care shown during her time with them. Your support and dedication will never be forgotten.
