Passed peacefully away on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander, Mrs. Ida Senita Henrietta Morgan, age 88.
Predeceased by her husband, Ralph; son, Terry; grandson, Stephen; parents, Archibald and Nora Leyte; brothers, William, Karl, Fred, Winston; sisters, Myrtice Pomeroy, Marion Gushue, and Chrissie Oake.
Left to mourn their precious memories are her children, Wayde (Dulcie), Dennis, Tom, Madonna (Barry), Arnold (Gaye); daughter-in-law, Barb; brothers, Sid (Bridget), Mcgavin (Christine); sister, Juanita; sisters-in-law, Stella, Dorothy, Joyce; brother-in-law, Marshall; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
In younger years of her life, she went to work as a serving girl with a family in Norris Arm. She went back to Fogo and there met the love of her life Ralph. They married in 1953 and spent the first 2 years on Change Islands and then moved to Lewisporte, where they raised their family of six children. Ida was a home maker for many years but, later in life she went to work doing home care for a few years.
She was very active and devoted to St. Paul's Anglican Church and was also, the church warden for fifteen years. She was involved in the ACW for many years, and a member of the ladies Orange Benevolent Association. She also volunteered at North Haven Manor working in the Tuk Shop and in Palliative Care.
She also went to Killdevil Church camp for 10 years as a camp mom which she thoroughly enjoyed.
After losing her life partner of sixty years, she then moved to Pleasantview Manor, which became her home. She was very happy and content there, where she received the best possible care.
As expressions of sympathy donations to St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery Fund or charity of one's choice will be greatly accepted.
Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. The Funeral Service will take place from St. Paul's Anglican Church, Lewisporte, NL on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 2PM. Interment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Lewisporte, NL.
