It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ida Barnes announce her passing at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander, NL with family by her side on Monday January 20, 2025 at the age of 82 years.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her 10 children; Carrie (John), Morris (Kay), James (Kim), Ellen (Harold), Glenn, Maxine (Kerry), Denise (Dave), Perry (Serena), Kim (Sterling), Theresa (Tim); Nan's Boys, Larry and Garry; 24 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother, Stanley (Barbara); sister, Fannie and a large circle of family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents James and Dorcas Hart; husband, Charles; granddaughter, Jennifer.

Mom was a devoted mother and grandmother that had a smile that could light up any room. She loved music and you could always hear her singing. She loved her family and loved to have fun. Until her health declined, mom was an active member in the community of Horwood, attending 50 plus and being a faithful member of the Salvation Army Corps attending home league and church services. When mom's health didn't allow her to attend services in person, she became a devoted and faithful viewer of the Salvation Army Conception Bay South services. You could find Mom sitting in her chair watching these services over and over.

Thank you to the wonderful staff on the medical ward at the JPMH and Doctor Habashi for their care and compassion during mom's final days. Also, we cannot forget a big heartfelt thank you to Mom's homecare workers, Renee, Kim, Karen & Samantha, who gave her the utmost care she could possibly receive. It is because of you that she was able to stay in her home as long as she did, which was her biggest wish.

She has now earned her heavenly reward. We will love and miss you forever.

Public Visitation will take place from The Salvation Army Church, Horwood, NL, Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.

The Funeral service will take place from The Salvation Army Church, Horwood, NL on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 1 PM. Interment to follow at the Old Salvation Army Cemetery, Horwood, NL.

As expression of sympathy flowers or donations to The Salvation Army Cemetery, Horwood, NL would be gratefully accepted.
