Passed peacefully away on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander, NL. Mr. Herbert Wesley Rideout, age 76 years.

Predeceased by his parents, Melvin & Glossy; sisters, Lottie, Netta, Joan.

Left to mourn his passing with fond and loving memories are his wife, Joan; children, Tracy (Byron Vatcher), Phillip (Amanda), David; grandchildren, Brandon, Daniel (Shaun), Shannon, Colin, Damian, Nissi; great-granddaughter, Charlotte; brother, Melvin (Michelle); sisters, Jessie, Mylvia (Gary Harris), Floria (Glen Mills), Sheila, and a large circle of family and friends.

Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

The Funeral Service will take place from Glad Tidings Tabernacle, Embree on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 11 AM. The interment will follow at the Community Cemetery, Embree.

As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Community Cemetery, Embree will be gratefully accepted.
