Helen Louise Pollock, 88, of St. John's, NL, passed peacefully on February 4, 2021 after a long, brave fight, with her loving family at her side.
Leaving behind with loving and cherished memories are her daughters Andrea (Paul) Northcott, Heather (Allison) MacLaggan, and Katina (James) Pollock; brother John (Janet) Butler, and the joys of her life, her grandchildren, Claire, Nicole, Andrew, Helen, Emily, and great grandchildren Charlotte and Samuel. She is predeceased by her Husband, Dr. Andrew Walter Long Pollock, parents Myrtice Cook and James Alexander Butler, and Brothers, Robin, Frank, and Peter.
Born in St. John's, Helen completed her Nurse's training in the class 1953B from St. John's General Hospital. She went on to live and work in Lewisporte, NL, with her husband, where they had their medical practice for 45 years. She practiced as a nurse, laboratory technician, community health nurse and mid-wife. In her spare time, Helen raised three daughters, and nephew Martin Poole (Ireland), founded the Notre Dame Figure Skating Club, she was also a long-time member and past president of the Royal Commonwealth Society, a member of Beta Sigma Phi, taught Sunday School, acted as a Brownie leader and helped to facilitate the development of the North Haven Manor Senior Citizen's Home.

A celebration of life will be held at Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL, on July 20, 2022 at 2:00pm. Those who knew Helen are encouraged to come and share their memories of her.
