Helen passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the North Haven Manor, Lewisporte, in her 82 nd year.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd; parents, Gordon and Marjorie Bussey; brothers, Carl, Wilson, Wallace, Rick and Victor; sister, Bernice. Left to mourn her passing with fond and loving memories are her son, Dennis (Joan); daughter, Deana; grandchildren, Ryan (Angelie), Andrew (Megan), Kaleigh; great-grandchildren, Emma, Easton and Noah; siblings, Selma and Irene (Velmer); Family friends, Brittany and Alan.
Helen was born February 21, 1940 in St. Lunaire Griquet. She taught her first year of teaching in St. Lunaire Griquet and second year of teaching in Miles Cove. In 1958, she met the love of her life and soul mate. Together they had two children, Dennis and Deana.
On September 30, 1959 she married her soul mate. Together they built a loving home where they entertained many guests.
She was a wonderful cook, baker and you could not walk into her house without indulging in some of her tasty treats. Helen had some special talents which was her crafts and knitting. Helen was a faithful Christian who was a Sunday School Teacher for 50 plus years. She was a member of the church choir, nursery worker and a Missionettes leader. She was very dedicated to her community and often volunteered. Helen will always be remembered for her love, kindness, compassion and her beautiful smile.
Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte on Thursday, September 29 th from 7-9 PM. The Funeral Service will take place from the Philadelphia Pentecostal Church, Lewisporte on Friday, September 30 th at 11 AM. Interment will take place from the Pentecostal Church Cemetery, Lewisporte.
As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to Make a Wish Foundation or the Canadian Red Cross will be gratefully accepted.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte.
