Hartland passed peacefully at James Paton Memorial Hospital embraced in his wife's loving arms. He was in his 86th year.
Forever remembered by the love of his life, his wife of 59 years Lillian (Hodder); his son, Chris (Monique) of Campbellton; daughter, Leoda Harrison of Beaverbank, NS.; grandsons, Mark, Jack and Issac of Beaverbank, NS.; sisters, Maisie Fudge of McCallum and Jane (Tom) Fitzpatrick of Lords Cove, NL. and brother, Kevin, of McCallum; sisters-in-law; Susie Northcott, Shirley Seymour, Phoebe Durnford, Lousie Keeping all of Margaree, and Norma Lilly (Wilson Billard) of Isle Aux Morte, and brothers-in-law Jim Hodder (Zenith) of Margaree, and Raymond Hodder (Eileen) of Port-aux-Basques. He also leaves to mourn the staff and residents of White's Family Care Residence, a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Predeceased by daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Trevor Fox of Lower Sackville, N.S.; son-in-law, John Harrison of Beaverbank, NS; parents, Amelia and Henry Wellman of McCallum; parents-in-law, Mary and John Hodder of Margaree; brother, Johnny of McCallum; sisters-in- law, Marion Hodder and Edith Loveless; brothers-in-law, Samuel Northcotte, Garfield Seymour, Peter Durnford, Terrence Keeping, Roy Loveless, Howard Fudge and Eric Lilly.
To the doctors, nurses, and paramedics who spent time with, and helped Hartland, we thank you for your care and compassion. Thank you for your kindness to Lillian and Chris.
As expressions of sympathy donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Exploits Valley S.P.C.A will be greatly accepted.
Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home on Thursday, February 8,2024 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM.
The funeral service will take place from St Paul's Anglican Church, Lewisporte, NL on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 2PM. Interment to follow at the St. Paul's Anglican Cemetery, Lewisporte, NL.
