Passed peacefully away on Sunday, May 10, 2020, surrounded by her family in her home in Comfort Cove-Newstead, NL, Mrs. Joan Cooper, age 77 years.

Joan was predeceased by her parents, Melvin and Glossie Rideout; sisters, Lottie Hart and Nettie Reynolds.

April 19, 1963 she married the love of her life and together they made Comfort Cove their forever home. They had two children, Stephen Jr. and Renée; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Stephanie Harnett.

Joan had a love for the outdoors. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, their cabin and especially spending time with family and friends. She was known for her love of cooking, baking and especially sewing/quilting. Joan had a big heart and lots of love to give to persons with special needs and disabilities. She spent a number of years caring for them in her home.

She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband, Stephen; son, Stephen Jr.; Daughter, Renée; son-in-law, Craig Harnett and grandchildren, Nicholas and Stephanie; special granddaughters, Miranda and Melanie; extra special great-grandchildren, Aidan and Liam; brothers, Wesley (Joan), Melvin (Michelle); sisters, Jessie, Mylvia (Gary), Sheila, Flora (Glenn) and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation is to take place. A Memorial Service will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory can be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center.
