Passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at the Central NL Regional Health Care Center, Grand Falls-Windsor, Mr. Gordon Elmo Canning, age 89 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret Canning; infant son, Gary; granddaughters, Stacey and Sarah; brothers, Eli, Allan, Ambrose, Garland and Roland; sister, Annie. Left to mourn his passing with fond and loving memories are his wife, Viola; children, Judy (Roy Brenton), Jane (Roland Boone), Paul (Kimberley), Joan, Joyce (Colin Pope) and Janis; grandchildren, Christopher (Erin), Bailey, Tala, Chad, Tyler (Vanessa), Liam, Joshua, Jennifer and JD; great-granddaughter, Miya; sisters, Marina (Roland Cooper), Mildred (Oscar Taylor) and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The public visitation will take place from The Salvation Army Church, Comfort Cove-Newstead, NL on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM.

The funeral service will take place from The Salvation Church, Comfort Cove-Newstead, NL on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 2 PM. Interment will follow from The Salvation Army Cemetery, Comfort Cove-Newstead, NL
