It is with great sadness and broken hearts; we announce the loss of our beloved George Maxwell Legge age 76 years, who passed away on March 17, 2025 at the James Paton Memorial Hospital Gander, NL.

He was predeceased by his parents, George and Mamie Legge; brothers, Griffen and Edward Legge; brothers-in-law, Paul Eddy and Llewellyn Harnett; sisters-in-law Kay and Marcie Legge.

Left to mourn his passing with fond and loving memories partner, Ivy Callahan; son, Christopher Legge; daughters, Andrienne Bell-Smith and Sara Legge; step-son, Dean (Merina) Callahan; step-daughter Debbie Callahan; sisters, Ruby Harnett and Jean Eddy; brother, Jack (Mary) Legge; grandchildren, Eric, Jennifer and Harrison; great- granddaughter, Amelia; step-grandchildren, Sheldon, Shane, Shannon, Jade, Joshua and families; step-great-grandchildren, Allie, Paige, Johnny, Harvey, Teela and a very large circle of special nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends especially Lawrence LeDrew who was loved like a son.

Born in Howley, NL, the youngest of 6 children. He grew up in Ontario, spent his early year working in a shoe store and playing in a band. He also spent time working in Labrador City, NL, retiring from Toronto Transit Commission in 2005. He then settled in Campbellton, NL, where he met the love of his life, Ivy. In later years he spent his time involved with the Town Council in Campbellton, NL, for a period of time he was the deputy mayor. He dearly loved to fish, sing and play guitar. He was always the life of any party or gathering. His family and friends were his entire world he loved them dearly and they him.

Though his time here has ended his, love and legacy will continue to shine brightly in our hearts. We Miss You. We Love You. We Will Never Forget You.

We would like to thank the staff at James Paton Memorial Hospital ICU and many family and friends for your support during this very difficult time.

In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place with a private burial at a later date.
