Passed suddenly away on Saturday, March 5, 2016, Mr. Gary (Slim) Alvin Hurley, age 49 years, formally of Comfort Cove-Newstead.

Gary Alvin Hurley was born to Solomon and Beatrice Hurley on October 24, 1966. He moved to Ontario at the early age of 17 and found work shortly after. He worked for Optex Staging Company for most of his life. He was putting up stages for different singers and bands. The last few years he was supervising the staging. He loved his job and worked hard to support his family. Family meant everything to him. He had lots of friends that loved and respected him. He loved to get home to Newfoundland when he could so he could get to the cabin and go skidooing with his two brothers.

He was predeceased by baby, Brianna; grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Left to mourn his passing are his parents, Solomon and Beatrice; his 5 children, Sheena, Brooke, Chantelle, Adrian, Sean and their mother, Terry;Brooke & her mother Marilyn; Shena & Her mother Karen; sisters, Ilene (Brian), Josephine (Keith), Welma (Curt), Verna (Clive); brothers, Lyle (Kelly), Todd and a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will take place Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 11 am from the Salvation Army Citadel, Comfort Cove-Newstead, NL Captain George Crocker officiating.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him especially his co-workers in Ontario and his family. Love you forever Gary.
