Obituary

Fronie passed peacefully away, surrounded by her family, on October 22, 2020.

Left to remember her lovingly, are her children:  Sharon (Clayton) Robinson, Beverley (Stephen) Clarke, Maxcena (Brian) Penney, Ivan (Dorothy) Welsh, Rosland Penney, Arlene (Lester) Burton, and Byron (Jennifer) Welsh. Fronie leaves the special treasures of her life, her grandchildren: Linda-Lee, Barry, Vance, Vaughn, Andre, Matthew, Joshua, Nicole, Nathan, Alyse, Jolinda, Rebecca, Jarvis, Jamal, Tim, Jordan, Peter, Andrew, Jenna, and 24 great- grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Also her siblings: Jesse (Majorie) Wade, Raymond (Mary) Wade, Hannah (Edward) Simms, Flossie (Cass) Wade, Melva Lane, Edward (Brenda) Ward as well as a large circle of family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents: Rebecca and Samuel Wade; brother Ivan; husband, Evangelist John H. Welsh; and her daughter Dianne.

Fronie was born on September 28, 1934 in Gambo, NL. She met John Welsh in Gander in 1951 while waitressing at a local restaurant. They were married on August 27, 1952. In 1957 they moved to Peterborough, ON where John entered Bible College to prepare for fulltime ministry. Fronie was a faithful servant of her Lord and Saviour. She never missed prayer meetings and/or church services. She certainly enjoyed her 50+ group. She was a WM leader, Missionette leader, and a Sunday School teacher for both children and adults. She was also a member of the Women's Auxiliary and a volunteer on the Palliative Care Team at the North Haven Manor and she spent many hours helping at the Lewisporte Goodwill Centre.

She will be remembered as a lady who loved God and her family. She was a humble woman who shied away from the spotlight, but stood so tall in her children's eyes. She loved to give and was kind to everyone she met. She will be dearly missed.  Our reunion will be glorious!
