Frank
Wheeler
Jul 25, 1940 — Nov 17, 2020
Passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at his residence in Campbellton, NL Mr. Frank Wheeler, aged 80 years.
Frank's professional career took him in many different directions. He was a teacher, principal, clerical worker and, while in Toronto, he worked for the Driver's Examination Center. But throughout it all, his heart stayed "in the bay". He moved his family home to Newfoundland and settled in Campbellton, where the family store, "Wheeler's Grocery", gave him the opportunity to connect with many people, creating new friends and relationships that would last a lifetime.
Frank was passionate about the great outdoors. His early morning ski-doo trips into the woods to cut down the biggest tree he could find gave him tremendous joy. He routinely completed a full day's work before most people considered raising their heads from their pillows in the morning.
Frank touched many lives in his active 80 years. His generous heart and infectious laughter will be greatly missed. Remember him with a smile and a laugh because that is how he lived his life.
He was predeceased by his parents, Hayward Pearce and Elizabeth Martha Wheeler; daughter, Donna Louise; siblings, Lloyd, Frances and Harold. Left to mourn his passing with fond and loving memories are his wife of 43 years, Evelyn; children, Debbie, Jim (Katherine), Beverley (Aaron Sutton); grandchildren, Ean, Sarah and Adam; brother, Gus; mother-in-law, Marion Stockley; as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at 2-4 PM following COVID-19 Government regulations.
The funeral service will take place from The Salvation Army Citadel, Campbellton, NL on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 2 PM for invited guests only. The interment will take place from the Salvation Army Cemetery, Campbellton.
As expressions of sympathy, flowers or donations to the Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, Campbellton will be gratefully accepted.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, Lewisporte. NL.
