Passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022 at the North Haven Manor, Lewisporte, NL, Mrs. Faith Helena Gale, three weeks shy of her 90 ^th birthday.

Faith Chaffey was born on Change Islands in 1932 and began her working career as a teacher at Woody Island Tickle, Change Islands then later went to Lewisporte Wholesalers doing office administration work. She met and married Alvin Gale in 1958 and the next year in 1959 they moved to Baie Verte. Her husband was a welfare officer and she did bookkeeping work for the local merchant Sid Thistle. She also set up an accounting system for Gid Sacrey of La Scie, while keeping a set of books for her husbands new company in 1968, A.J Gale ltd, later called Phoenix Cable. In 1978 after 20 years on the Baie Verte Peninsula, she returned home to Lewisporte once again, and secured work with Lou Eveleigh , Norte Dame Bay Fisheries. She retired from working life outside the home in the early 90's after her husband's business started prospering. In her later years Faith spent more time hosting for family and friends, creating memories with her grandchildren, enjoying cabin life, and boating in Notre Dame Bay.

Left  to mourn her passing with fond and loving memories her children, Dale (Helen), Brian (Cheryl); grandchildren, Summer, Shannon (Dave), Ashley (Joe), Nathan (Jennifer), Aaron (Madison), Sacha, Andrew and Chloe; great-grandchildren, Skye, Connor, Gabriel, Angeline, Faith, Dustin, Tia, Eilidh, Lennon and Marley; brother, Fred (Elizabeth) Chaffey; and a large circle of other relatives and friends.

Faith was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Fanny Chaffey; her husband, Alvin; siblings, Ruby Chaffey, Mildred Decker and Lorne Chaffey.

Public visitation will take place at Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home , 262 Main Street, Lewisporte on Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 2- 4 PM. The Funeral Service will take place from the St. Matthews United Church, Lewisporte on Friday, June 10 ^th , 2022 at 2PM. Interment will follow from the St. Matthews United Church Cemetery, Lewisporte.

As expressions of sympathy, flowers or donations to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center will be gratefully accepted.
