Passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at the Long Term Care, Gander, NL, Mrs. Ettie Lulu Goodyear, age 76 years.

Ettie was born to John and Jemina Coles, Carmanville. In 1966, she married the love of her life Lawrence Goodyear and  together they raised two sons, Gilbert and Tony.

Ettie loved to spend hours knitting for craft stores or her grandchildren and attending to her flower gardens in the summer. She spent countless years as a Sunday School superintendent and Children's Church leader.

Predeceased by her parents, John and Jemina Coles; son, Eric; in-laws, Kenneth and Fanny Goodyear; brothers, Silas (Alrena), Samuel (Dallas), Garfeild (Deb); sisters, Blanche (Wilfred Hodder, William Wells), Edith (Cyril Simms), Geraldine (Garland Easton); brothers-in-law, Pastor Willie Angell, Samuel Hoddinott, Kenneth G. Goodyear, Eric Budden; sister-in-law; Mary (Ryburn Snow).

Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Lawrence Goodyear; sons, Gilbert (Viola), Tony (Melissa); grandchildren, Samantha, T.J., Travis, Tony Jr. and Faith; special niece, Christa Coles; brother, Roland (Christine); sisters, Hazel, Myrtle and a large circle of family and friends.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Public visitation will take place from Bethel Full Gospel Tabernacle, Carmanville, NL on Thursday September 3, 2026 from 7PM- 9PM.

The Funeral Service will take place from Bethel Full Gospel Tabernacle, Carmanville, NL on Friday September 4, 2026 at 2PM. Interment will follow at the Bethel Full Gospel Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation will be gratefully accepted.
