Obituary

Passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023 at the After Hours Clinic, Lewisporte, NL, Mr. Dennis Woodrow Hillier, age 67 years.

He was born in Griquet where he grew up with a large Family.  At the age of 17, he moved to Goose Bay working with Allied Aviation. In 1980, he met Cynde, got married in 1985 and then got Transferred to Gander with Allied Aviation and continued working with the company until 1996. In 1997, he moved to Kitchener, ON and worked with Navtec until his retirement April of 2019.He then moved to Comfort Cove.

In his younger years, he loved fishing and hunting and spending time with his daughter, Ashley teaching her how to fish.  He spent many hours watching his beloved Blue Jays Baseball team.  He loved to travel with his Family and enjoyed doing renovations to houses that him and Cynde lived in.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harvey and Rita Hillier; sisters, Lona and Ruby; brother, Alvin; brother-in-law, Art Eddison.  Left to mourn his passing with fond and loving memories are his wife, Cynde;  3 children, Ashley (Ramiro), Tony (Brenda) and Patricia; grandchildren, Sierrah, Seryn and Helena;  siblings, Wilfred (Lillian), Helen (Frank), Lillian (Carl), Triffie (Jack), Eugene (Carole), Kevin (Mildred), Donna (Bill), Debbie, Janet and Ivan; parents-in-law, Pearl and Junior Eveleigh; brother-in-law, Dwight (Blanche), sister-in-law, Ellen (Earl) and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public visitation will take place from the Salvation Army Church, Comfort Cove on Monday, December 11th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.  The Funeral Service will take place from the church on Tuesday, December 12th at 2 PM with Majors David and Wavey Chaulk officiating.

Mr. Hillier will then be taken to his hometown of Griquet where there will be a Funeral Service from the Pentecostal Church on Thursday, December 14th at 10 AM. Interment will follow in the Pentecostal Church Cemetery .

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Family will be gratefully accepted.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL.
