It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of a loving husband and dad, at his home in Lewisporte, NL on September 18, 2025, at the age of 80 years.

Clyde was predeceased by his parents, George & Gwendolyn Raike; parents-in-law, Herbert & Rowena Potter; his siblings, Muriel, Tony, Terry; brothers-in-law, Bill Young, Cecil Martin, Eric Colbourne & Clyde Potter.

Left to mourn his loss are his loving wife, Maxine; twin daughters, Lisa Pelley (Colin) and Lynn Voutour (Kenny); grandson, Jonathan Pelley (Samantha); great-grandson, Waylon Pelley; sisters, Betty, Joan, Daisy, Marjorie; brothers, Otto (Claudine), Bert (Linda), Danny (Eulah); sisters-in-law, Margaret Raike, Joy Raike; brothers-in-law, Otto Potter (Dulcie), Douglas Halfyard.

Clyde was a hard worker all his life. He loved his job at the school bus depot and dearly loved the children who rode his bus. He was super happy when his great-grandson was born and had much joy when he held him in his arms. As a father, he was the best; as a friend, he would give you the shirt off his back; as a husband, he was caring and loving. When he was able, he visited McDonald's with his friends and loved to joke around with the staff. For the last few years, Clyde hasn't been well and was unable to do the things he liked to do. Walking was a chore and as a result he spent most of his time at home. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank the Community Health nurses, Melanie, Lisa, Heidi and student nurses. Jill, you will remember him for blaming you for taking all the candy.

Cremation has taken place as per Clyde's wishes. A celebration of his life will be set at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Lewisporte Academy Breakfast Program will be greatly accepted.
