Sgt (Retired) Penney, Charles "Lou" Llewellyn.
Born January 5, 1966 in Cannings Cove, NL, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 after a brief illness with his family by his side.
Predeceased by his father, Llewellyn Penney; mother, Irene (Butler); sister, Ruby Brousseau.
Left to mourn his passing with fond and loving memories are his wife of 33 years Karen (Mounk); brother, Harold (Jackie); sister, Melita Penney; brother-in-law, Linton (Rhonda) Mounk; nephews, Danny, Marc and Dale; niece, Erin; as well as many good friends and relatives across the country.
Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main St, Lewisporte, NL on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 2-4 PM following COVID19 government regulations. NLVaxPass will be required upon arrival. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
After serving 25 years with the Canadian Arm Forces Lou returned to NL to retire and in his words was "living the dream." Nothing made him happier than enjoying the great outdoors. Fishing and riding his Harley were his passions.
Lou was highly skilled photographer within the armed forces, and he captured award winning moments in time, from natural disasters across Canada, to the Queen Mother's 100 th birthday, to the middle of war zones in Afghanistan. His work is on display at the National War Museum of Canada.
Everyone who knew Lou saw that he lived life to the fullest and had the ability to make friends with anyone he met. The bright light in our lives has dimmed. He will be forever missed.
Stand easy, your job is done.
