Cecil Aaron Lewis of Baytona, NL passed peacefully away, surrounded by family at Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre, Twillingate, NL at the age of 93.

Cecil was predeceased by the love of his life, Hilda Lewis, his wife of almost 66 years, along with his parents Dora and George Lewis, six brothers, Jim, Steward, Lindsey, Lot, Jack, and Arthur, and his beloved grandson Jamie.

Left to mourn are Cecil and Hilda's children, Brian (Maxine) Lewis, Dale (Andy) Baggs, Myra (Matt) Lannon, and Lisa Lewis; his grandchildren Cheryl (Darrin), Kara (Brad), Melissa (Ryan), and Mitchell (Danika); his great-grandchildren, Cam, Noah, Duke and Charlotte; and an extended circle of family and friends.

Born in Birchy Bay North, NL where he resided for 83 years. He worked hard in the woods and on the water, in forestry and fishery. He cut his last tree the day he moved to Lewisporte Pleasantview Manor with his wife in 2014, where he lived until the days before his passing. He worked as a hunting guide as well, a fitting role, as he not only guided many visitors to NL, but his own family, on countless trips to the pond, in the camper, in boat, and in his travels across the province and beyond with his beloved wife. Along the way, he caught a million lobsters, trout, moose, rabbits, and taught his family with quick wit, musical talent, loving devotion, and quiet pride, and he will be dearly missed.

The visitation will take place at St. John Anglican Church in Baytona, NL on Sunday, May 26 from 2pm-4pm.

Funeral Service will take place at St. John Anglican Church in Baytona, NL on Monday 27 at 2pm. Interment  will follow from the Anglican Cemetery, Baytona, NL.
