Obituary

Basil was born December 19, 1929 in Middle Arm, NL to Luke and Louisa Thomas.  He met the love of his life in 1953, Marjorie.  Together they raised 6 children.

He was an outstanding carpenter, mechanic, logger, well known for his saw mill skills and an outdoor person.  He gave his heart to the Lord many years ago and with all the struggles and trials, kept his faith in the Lord.

He is predeceased by his parents, Luke and Louisa Thomas; brothers, Scott and Bert (Olive);  sisters, Pearl (Max) and Joyce (Cyril);  daughter, Fronie;  granddaughter, Kathrine.

Left to mourn his passing with fond and loving memories are his wife, Marjorie; children, Wanetta (Vaden), Judy (Perry), Scott (Effie), Vincent (Doris), Jimmy (Diane), Barry (Kathy);  their 15 grandchildren;  25 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; his siblings, Effie (Albert Colbourne), Louisa (Clifford Mitchell), Annie (Winston Morgan), Luke (Louise) Thomas, Earl (Judy) Thomas; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins,  and a large circle of other relatives and friends.

The public visitation will take place from Maranatha Pentecostal Church, Brown's Arm, NL on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 and Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm .  The funeral service will take place from Maranatha Pentecostal Church, Brown's Arm, NL on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 2 pm.  The interment will follow from the Pentecostal Cemetery, Brown's Arm, NL.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the family will be gratefully accepted.
