Passed peacefully away in the presence of his family at North Haven Manor in Lewisporte on Sunday, April 14th, 2019, Mr. Augustus Francis Gordon Simmons age 94 years of Campbellton. He was predeceased by his parents, Becil and Gladys; his wife of 64 years, Mildred; son, Eugene; baby daughter, Bonnie; grandson, Christopher; brother, Dotson; sons-in-law, Walter Ryan and David Learning.

Left to mourn are Irene; sons, Terry (Natasha), Garry (Susan); daughters, Una Mills (Scott), Joyce Ryan (Gordon), Juanita Learning, Louise Roy, Cathy Bluer, Jo-Ann Nicolle (Chad); daughters-in-law, Mary, Mabel; brother, Tom; sisters, Pearl Crewe, Hurlett Pinksen; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Gus spent his younger years with his father Becil working in the logging industry and sawmills. In 1962 he found employment at the Iron Ore Co. of Canada, Labrador City. In 1968 he moved with his family there and retired in 1989.

Public visitation will take place from The Salvation Army Church, Campbellton, NL on Monday, April 15th 2-4 & 7-9 PM.  The Funeral Service will take place from The Salvation Army Church, Campbellton, on Tuesday, April 16th, 2019, at 2PM.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be gratefully accepted.
