It is with great sadness that the family of Arthur Smith announce his passing at the age of 78. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Emily Smith, sister Mabel French and father-in-law, Lewis Elms. Leaving to mourn with broken hearts, loving and devoted wife, Joan; beloved children, Kayla (Devon), and Stefan (Dixie); precious grandchildren, Jaxon, Hazen, Parker and Sawyer; mother-in-law, Jessie; sister, Thersea (Jim); brother-in-law, Mac; sisters-in-law, Jean (Barry) and Dawn; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.

Arthur was a devoted husband, father and grandfather with a zest for life and a smile that lit up a room. Throughout his life, he was the #1 sports fan for Kayla and Stefan, enjoyed travelling with Joan in their RV, and taking walks around Lewisporte while chatting with everyone along the way. He was the life of the party and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a seafood enthusiast, a business owner and a sneaky bartender. He had a charisma that attracted new friends and conversation wherever he went.

In recent years, he faced many health challenges but kept his humour until the end and in his last days, still managed to bring a smile and laugh to those in the room. He left a footprint on everyone he met and will be missed beyond measure.

Public visitation will take place on Monday, April 29th, from 2-4 and 7-9 at Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, Lewisporte. Service will be Tuesday, April 30th at 11am at St. Matthew's United Church, Lewisporte.
