Mom, Mama, Nan, Great-Nan, as she was lovingly referred to by her family, with sound mind until her last days, remained true to her life's calling in service to her Family and faith. This was evidenced not only by the explicit instructions left for her final wishes, but also, her life's involvement in the community of Campbellton. She was a dedicated member of the United Church Women of Campbellton (UCW) and contributed many hours of service to her community as part of this organization. She loved singing in the church choir and performing solos in various celebrations such as weddings and funerals. In her earlier days, she was a teacher in Little Seldom on Fogo Island, but her biggest legacy remains the Family she raised through much sacrifice and hardship but always with love.
Her Family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and residents of Pleasantview Manor, Lewisporte, who made her 8 year stay enjoyable and fulfilling. They would also like to extend thanks to the nursing staff of North Haven Manor, Lewisporte, for the loving and professional care in her final days. Also, many thanks to the many drivers who made sure she did not miss and was on time for her special gatherings.
