Obituary

It is with great sadness that the Family of the Late Allison Malcolm Wheaton announce his passing at the James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL on Monday, February 24, 2025 at the age of 83 with his Family by his side.

He was predeceased by his parents, Chesley and Ina Wheaton; sister, Baby girl, Betty and brother, Willie Wheaton.

Left to mourn his passing with fond and loving memories are his wife, Blanche of 59 years; his two children, Chris (Donna), Lori (Jason) and his two grandsons, Brandon and James; siblings, Charlie (Effie), Catherine (Bill), Norman (Lorna), Gloria (George), Maisie, Martin (Cheryl) and a large circle of other relatives and friends.

At the age of 13, he went to work in the Lumber woods with Western Construction and was an inshore fisherman for 30 years. He loved the outdoors, hunting and cutting wood.

Public visitation will take place from the Salvation Army Church, Carmanville on Friday, February 28th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.  The Funeral Service will take place from the church on Saturday, March 1st at 1 PM.  Interment will follow from the Salvation Army Church Cemetery, Carmanville.

As expressions of sympathy, flowers accepted or donations to The Salvation Army Church, Carmanville will be gratefully accepted.

The Family would like to thank the Medical Ward staff of James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander and Dr. Paulis for the compassion and care shown to Mr. Wheaton. A special thank-you to his homecare workers, Victoria and Julia for everything you did for him.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL.
