Passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Lewisporte Health Center, Lewisporte, NL, Mr. Alec Ross Porter, aged 85 years.

He is predeceased by his parents, Norman and Delsie; brothers, Arthur (Lilly), Roy (Ella), Nelson (Sadie); son-in-law, Stephen Balsom; brothers-in-law, Augustus Lewis and Edward Burry; sister-in-law, Irene.

Left to mourn his passing with fond and loving memories are his wife, Phyllis; daughter, Elaine Balsom; sons, Lorne and Craig (Gayla); grandchildren, Luke (Robyn), Anthony, Cher, Katie and Mattie; siblings, John, Hilda Lewis, Margaret (Harold Manuel), Marina Burry, Marshall (Doris), Hubert (Pansy) and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte on Friday, March 31st from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.

The funeral service took place from St. Matthews United Church, Lewisporte, NL on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 2 PM. The interment followed at the United Church Cemetery, Lewisporte, NL.

As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory were made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Arthritis Society.
